Los Luchana tienen mucho teatro
If Madrid can boast about something is about having the best artistic and cultural offer in the whole of Spain and one of the best in the world. Its museums are known worldwide and they receive thousands of visitors, the three best of which are known as the Art Triangle (or Golden Triangle). The Art Triangle is made up by the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofía museums, stunning museums with the best collections and exhibitions just yards from each other.
However, another of the city’s attraction is its cultural offer, with fantastic theatre plays and musicals for all tastes, audiences and pockets. Great theatres line up next to each other on Spain’s Walk of Fame, the Gran Vía (next to our hotel in the center of Madrid) and have first-class premieres on their programme. Added to this is the constant struggle for opening new performance stages to show the general public that culture is something for all of us to enjoy. This is the case of Teatros Luchana. It is not a grand opening or a premiere but rather an ambitious reconstruction and re-opening project of one of the city’s most emblematic theatres.
With the objective of bringing the general public closer to the “theatre for everyone” concept, recently and after 6 months of works, the famous Luchana cinemas have become four stages open to performing arts, with up to 700 seats and low prices that range from 6 to 15 euros. A complete experience that is topped off with the gastronomic offer that is located in the theatre’s main hall (thanks to the experience of San Miguel Market, one of the main forces behind this space dedicated to food).
Three cinema screens that have now become four stages where all kinds of theatre will be performed and which, at full throttle, plans to reach a lineup of 20 plays on weekends. What it wants is to liken the concept of a multi-screen cinema to a theatre: a varied offer, last-minute ticket sales, reduced prices… everything to boost the city’s theatre scene.
Madrid is still going forwards and culture is one of its fundamental projects.
