Escapada retro en Madrid

Just got back from your holiday with a feeling that it was far too short? No worries. We have the ideal solution: a retro getaway break in Madrid. This is a different and original way of getting to know the Spanish capital from a really different point of view on a tour around the best vintage shops in the city and some of its historical bars, restaurant or nightspots. A getaway break to extend your holidays and surprise your partner.

Discover retro Madrid

More or less all of us have already done the typical tourist bus tour or visited the most iconic attractions in Madrid: Cibeles, the Royal Palace, the Castellana, the Prado, Sol, Gran Vía and the Plaza Mayor. But what most people don’t know is that near all these attractions there are a ton of historical shops, from grocery stores to chocolate and sweet shops, haberdasheries, herbalists or religious and military goods stores.

The city has 12 restaurants that are over a century old. The oldest of all is the Posada de la Villa which dates back to 1642, but we can also enjoy vintage cuisine at Casa Ciriaco or Casa Pedro. The historical Café Gijón, a meeting point for writers, artists and actors, is also ideal for a drink.

The Fuencarral-El Prado district is home to Madrid Race, the biggest drive-in movie theatre in Europe, accompanied by a US-style diner and different kinds of food trucks for enjoying a vintage dinner while watching a movie from your car, just like in the olden days. The evening comes to an end at Rock-Ola, el Penta or Vía Láctea, all icons of Madrid nightlife and still the best places for a great night out. Are you in?
