Monologos en Madrid

Laughter is the elixir of life. The more laughter and smiles, the longer and happier you will live (or so they say). If you are going to be in Madrid and you fancy watching some comedy, we recommend the following venues and theatres where you can enjoy some excellent stand-up performances.

Beer Station – On Cuesta de Sto. Domingo, in Callao, you can find one of the bars that offers some of the best evenings you can have in Madrid. Beer Station is known for serving food while its guests laugh at some of the most popular comedians of today, such as Ignatius Farray, Hovik, Vakero, Flipy and Iñaki Urrutia among others, who will try and make you spit out your food with laughter with their hilarious jokes.

La Chocita del Loro – There are three venues in Madrid, two in the centre and one in the Carabanchel district, all three of them immensely popular among people who want to enjoy a drink or some food while listening to irreverent and sarcastic comedy. Among its regular comedians you can find Bermúdez, Fran el Chavo, Chema Trueba and Rober Bodegas.

Teatro Arlequín – This theatre located in the heart of Madrid is the stage for some of the most famous stand-up comedians in the city. If you are lucky enough to visit Madrid on specific days, you can watch the performances of Nancho Novo and his show El Cavernícola or Pepe Viyuela’s Encerrona.

Agrado Cabaret – This venue presents Madrid’s first American-style comedy club starting at midnight and until the 30th of June. Jorge Segura is the presenter of this show which includes comedy, music, VIP guests, interviews and sketches. Throughout this season. Álvaro, Kaco and Nene will be some of the comedians who will portray their unique vision of the world that we live in.
